And our 2026 intrachapter has already come to an end. The members of our “brotherhood”, coming from France and from the land of beer and surrealism, came, drank and conquered!
Good spirits and joie de vivre were the entry codes, with friendship as the common bond. Gien, on the banks of the Loire, welcomed us! Jeff, Cyrille, Papou and Catherine joined forces to put together this wonderful weekend.
The campsite, ideally located, echoed with the sound of our beautiful machines. Once again, France showed us some amazing things: magnificent landscapes, wonderfully scenic and relaxing roads along rivers, fields and forests, enhanced by a few delightful tastings of both drinks and food, allowing us to rest both seats and bladders!
The sun was with us, with the occasional drops hitting our helmets, just to remind the GM — Gentle Motorcyclists — of the Belgian roots of our favourite chapter!
And every return to Gien meant meeting for the Basque aperitif at number 130, followed by the other favourite activity: gathering at the bar! Music on Friday night, a lively dancefloor where — after a long time — we danced again to… “Jean Petit qui danse”… a true time capsule taking us back a decade, as well as the Belgian national anthem, another reminder of our roots!
Because yes, our Rushless Chapter Belgium, our — your — chapter, proudly embraces its origins while being open to everyone. Our members are Belgian, French, Canadian, from the Channel Islands and all corners of France!
Saturday, on the road again… A beautiful ride through this lovely region, lunch along the N7, reminding us of the charm of the old French roads, the holiday routes of our younger days when we were lighter, younger and more flexible!
Then came the Harley Drums, resonating and waking up the town of Gien! A fantastic warm-up before dinner, where our meal was animated by a magical trio combining entertainment, magic and live music! Of course, our members fully joined in, delivering an unforgettable mime performance!!!
End of the evening: the campsite returned to calm, with only the snoring of some shaking the bungalow walls…
Sunday morning, a tough wake-up for some: our friend Marco tasted the Gien asphalt, while others suffered from headaches — right, Ian and Polo?
Breakfast… and already the sadness of the ending sets in… Some stayed longer to enjoy these moments a bit more, others hit the road again, with heads and eyes full of great memories…
And 2027 is already planned: after Belgium in 2025 and Gien in 2026, it will be Normandy in 2027, where our friends Françoise and Gérard will welcome the Rushless — 83 years after the Boys of ’44.
Until then, we will meet again in Morzine, Reims and of course at our now legendary gathering in Poitiers, where we will pay tribute to our friend Marcel and to Kiki, without whom Rushless would probably never have existed…
Until then, friends — be careful in your madness, stay just as you are, because it’s fantastic!
Long live the Rushless Chapter Belgium and many thanks to everyone!
